EVERETT, WA – Major Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that resulted in a death. Suspect in custody.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at the Erwin Estates Apartment Complex in the 8200 block of 11th Dr W in Everett, Wash.

When officers arrived at the apartment complex, they located a severely injured male in his 40s with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers noted there appeared to be bullet holes originating from a shared interior wall in the victim’s apartment. The victim was transported to the hospital via emergency personnel. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, a male in his 40s who resides in the complex, was contacted by officers. The suspect was determined to be a neighbor of the victim living in an adjacent unit. The suspect was detained by police shortly after contact. Officers observed a black long-gun and pistol in his apartment.

The suspect was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Murder in the 2nd Degree.

Major Crimes detectives are still investigating the circumstances around the shooting.
