Monroe, Wash., April 13, 2017 – The Evergreen Speedway celebrated their 2017 Season Opener on Saturday, April 1. High Road Promotions owners Doug & Traci Hobbs have operated the historic speedway since 2011. The Hobbs family has transformed the facility and racing program into one of the most award-winning track operations in the Western United States. During this past off season, Evergreen Speedway was named one of NASCAR’s Top Ten Short Tracks in the country for the fifth straight year. The accolades don’t stop there, as Evergreen Speedway and the Hobbs were named Racing Promotion Monthly Western States (Region Six) Promoters of the Year for the third time in the last four years. The RPM Award for Region Six, The Southwest and Western Region consists of the 9 western states. “When we took over Evergreen Speedway in 2011, we hit the ground running, and haven’t stopped. We’ve come a long way in six years, and the growth we’ve seen in our racing program is amazing. It’s been an honor and humbling experience to receive the awards that we have over the past few years” said Evergreen Speedway President Doug Hobbs. “It’s been a total team effort from the start. We are grateful for the support from Snohomish County, the Fairgrounds and Parks Department, our Drivers, Sponsors, and Fans. We are fortunate to have an incredible staff of dedicated and hard-working employees, and would not have received these awards without them.” Evergreen Speedway is now home to some of the biggest motorsports events on the west coast and country, including their premier event, Summer Showdown. The Summer Showdown will be the biggest NASCAR Short Track event this year, and was recently named a “Top Ten Bucket List Short Track Events to Attend”, by Speedway Illustrated.
