Detective Honored for Crisis Intervention Snohomish Police Department’s Detective Kendra Conley was awarded the 2014 Crisis Intervention Team Supervisor/Coordinator award this month for her work in crisis intervention. Detective Conley received the award — one of four — at the CIT Regional Conference Awards Dinner on August 5 in Seattle. She was nominated for outstanding work responding to people with mental health or drug dependency issues. “Detective Conley is an extraordinary leader in Snohomish County when it comes to working with those who suffer from mental illness and addiction,” said Sheriff Ty Trenary. “We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments.” Detective Conley took it upon herself to research, train and develop better practices in helping people with mental illnesses in Snohomish County. She’s the lead instructor and primary coordinator of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team Program and was a key player in the development of the Snohomish County Triage Center. She has also received a Criminal Justice Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness for efforts in decriminalizing mental illness and a Certificate of Achievement from the First Gentleman of Washington for service to military veterans and their families. King County partnered with the states of Washington and Oregon on the host the event.
