Hospice Volunteer Open Houses

EvergreenHealth is seeking Snohomish County residents to join its team of Hospice and Palliative Care volunteers, and is hosting two open houses this summer to inform the public of meaningful service opportunities in their community. A three-day training session in September will then equip volunteers with the skills necessary to support their neighbors receiving hospice care.

The first open house will be held on Friday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at United Way of Snohomish County. Attendees will learn about the volunteer application process and can review open volunteer positions across Snohomish County. A second open house will be hosted on Saturday, August 17.

EvergreenHealth Hospice and Palliative Care offers end-of-life care for patients throughout Snohomish County. Volunteers are an integral part of the EvergreenHealth team and are able to make an impact supporting patients and families through difficult times.

“Volunteering is a great way to get in touch with your community,” said Melissa Lubatti, coordinator of hospice volunteers at EvergreenHealth Hospice and Palliative Care. “Our volunteers help patients in a variety of ways, whether that’s cooking a meal together, going on a walk, doing some light housekeeping or simply being a good listener. Our volunteers are a strong positive force in patients’ lives.”
