Back to School Means Sports Action in Snohomish County!

Fall is a busy time of year here in Snohomish County. Families are getting the kids ready to go back to school. Fall sports are starting. Runners keep running. The entire team here at the Snohomish County Sports Commission is gearing for a full slate of upcoming sports events! In this issue of Sports Quarterly, we’re covering all the action in individual and team sports competitions, tournaments, and races throughout the county.

We’re diligently putting together the final pieces for next month’s gala banquet to honor the 2016 Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame inductees. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, Sept. 28, and purchase your tickets now.

Our second annual Youth Sports Festival welcomes Jay Locker, former quarterback for University of Washington and the Tennessee Titans, as guest speaker. This free family event is packed with activities, too.

As the Everett AquaSox’s baseball season winds down, the Everett Silvertips hockey season heats up for its exciting 2016-17 season.

Running is going strong throughout Snohomish County with plenty of races to test your fitness and speed.

Though youth summer camps are coming to an end, the youth sports and recreation programs are gearing up for the fall.

Snohomish County hosts it first tennis sectional championships in September, so come out and cheer on the mixed double teams.

Love to volunteer? Check out the volunteer opportunities we have with many upcoming sporting events. Don’t forget, plenty of event sponsorships exist as well to help make each sports event a success.
