2015 Service Awards Presented

Snohomish County Fire District 4 celebrated the accomplishments of many of its members on June 10th at an event held at the Snohomish Senior Center.

The event was highlighted by entertainment provided by the Total Experience Gospel Choir of Seattle.

Annually the District presents service awards, as well as special recognition awards to members that have been voted on by the members.

Honored for 30 years of service to the District, Board of Fire Commissioners Chairman Jim Schmoker presented Fire Chief Ron Simmons with a plaque and certificate of appreciation. A 25 year service award was presented to Lieutenant Shawn Osborne. A 20 year award was presented to Lieutenant Brian Zehe. 15 year awards were presented to retiring Firefighter Brent Potter and Records Specialist Cherie Gatterman. Retiring also, and receiving a 10 year service award was Firefighter Matt Uplinger. Chaplain Margie Jacobsen received a 5 year award and Chaplain Dana Uplinger an award for 2 years.

The following special recognition awards were presented to honorees by members of the department:

EMS Provider of the Year, Firefighter/Paramedic Dave Lacy
Instructor of the Year, Lieutenant Darrell Heike
Officer of the Year, Battalion Chief Jason Hodkinson
Co – Firefighters of the Year, Firefighter Brent Marty & Firefighter Aaron Hammer

Also recognized as they retire from the department were Volunteer Lieutenant Marybeth O’Leary after 22 years of service and Firefighter/Paramedic Theresa Dennis after a combined total of 19 years of service as a Volunteer and Career Member of the department.
