First Look at Snohomish Boat Launch

Get a look at the new Snohomish boat launch before anyone else by attending the Snohomish Parks Foundation open house and party.

The Parks Foundation is hosting an open house and party at the new boat launch from 5pm-8pm tomorrow evening June 22. The community is invited for an evening at the ramp with music and refreshments.

At 6pm, there will be a parks planning meeting, this is the second in a series of planning meetings for this yet-to-be-named riverfront 20-acre park!

The meeting's purpose is to show potential uses for the site and learn community comments. Comments resulting from this meeting will be included in the park master plan. The draft will be presented to the community in the fall of 2016.

The City of Snohomish was awarded funding from the Snohomish County Conservation Futures Program to acquire the 20-acre property in 2014. It is located at 20 Lincoln Avenue, south of First Street, north of the train trestle, west of the soccer fields, and east of the Snohomish River.

The State Department of Fish and Wildlife constructed the boat launch for the City.

Funding for additional park development has yet to be identified. The Snohomish Parks Foundation will be requesting funds to support park needs during the meeting.
