GOLD BAR, Wash. – The Proctor Creek Fire is now 10 percent contained as wildland fire crews benefited from afternoon rain and cooler winds from the west to contain the day-old fire. As of 3:30 p.m., the fire’s perimeter is estimated at 325 acres.

Level 2 evacuations remain in place for 12 homes on the south side of State Highway 2 between 437th Dr SE and 439th Dr SE. A level 1 evacuation notice to residents in the Big Bend community. No homes have been lost and no injuries have been reported.

More than 100 firefighters are currently working on the fire, including engines from Snohomish County, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the United States Forest Service. Five hand crews are working, with the focus on the fire’s northeast front.

Command of the fire will transition to the Type 2 Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 10, which will be jointly commanding the Proctor Creek and Hot Shot fires from an Incident Command Post in Snohomish.
