Applicants sought for housing, community development projects

Snohomish County is encouraging nonprofit organizations, for-profit developers and government agencies to review Notices of Fund Availability (NOFAs) and submit applications for affordable housing, public facility, infrastructure improvement, and service projects.

An estimated $3.9 million in federal and local grant funds is anticipated to be available for the 2016 program year, which begins July 1, 2016. Projects must benefit low- and moderate-income persons or neighborhoods in Snohomish County.

Interested applicants can attend workshops in early October in the Snohomish County Robert J. Drewel Building (Administration Building East) on the county campus at 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

• Public Facility & Infrastructure Application Workshop - Tuesday, Oct. 6, Room 6A02, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

• Service Project Application Workshop - Thursday, Oct. 8, Room 6A04, 1 to 3:30 p.m.

• Affordable Housing Project Application Workshop - Friday, Oct. 9, Room 6A04, 9:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Details of eligibility and other program requirements are available in the NOFAs, which can be found online at: http://bit.ly/1vxJoyI. Applications must be completed and returned to the Snohomish County Human Services Department by 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015.

For additional information contact Jackie Anderson, the county’s manager for Housing and Community Services at 425-388-3232 or jackiem.anderson@snoco.org.
