Snohomish Easter Parade

The 35th Annual Easter Parade presented by the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce meandered down First Street on Saturday in front of more than 10,000 spectators. A beautiful sunny day with a cool breeze from the west made the event one to remember.

One of the young parade watchers, Kayla, said this was her first time seeing an Easter parade. She was not alone for many we spoke to said they had traveled quite away to see the only Easter parade in the state.

The Snohomish Easter Parade is in fact the only Easter parade left in Washington State and only one of eleven left in the United States.

This past weekend holds great significance different faiths, Passover for the Jews, Easter for Christians and Chocolate Bunny Day for the Atheists.

No matter what you were celebrating this past weekend, one thing stood out, for many it was a time for families to be together. That was evident at the parade on Saturday in Historic Downtown Snohomish.

The bonnet contest was another part of the annual Easter event. It was held at the Carnegie building, a new location, causing a bit of confusion. Laura Huntington headed up the event as usual with her enormous passion to honor all those that worked so hard on making that perfect Easter bonnet.
