School gives Duane Schireman Award

Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Perpetual Help School alumni Duane Schireman has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 ICOLPH School Distinguished Alumni Award. This award will be presented to Schireman on Sunday, January 25th at Immaculate Conception Church - 10:00 am mass. The award recognizes outstanding alumni who have exhibited community service and distinguished professional achievements since graduation. Schireman graduated in 1977 from Immaculate Conception School.

The school administration believes that Duane is an amazing person who exemplifies the spirit of community engagement that ICOLPH School instills in all of their students. He has provided crucial leadership to ICOLPH School during the time in which his 5 children have attended the school, as well as being a CYO Coach during those same years. His faithful life-long dedication to Catholic Ministry at Immaculate Conception Church has ranged from Children’s Liturgy to serving on various church committees and as a Eucharistic Minister, and Knights of Columbus.

Schireman has served in a number of Human Resource positions with The Boeing Company for the last 29 years. In his current position as Director of Strategic Workforce Planning he is responsible for workforce planning and intelligence including analytics and forecasting, recruiting transformation program, the company’s strategic partnership with domestic and international colleges and universities, and the suite of tools and resources to support retention.

Duane holds a Master’s Degree in International Management from McGill University in Quebec, Canada, and a BA in Business Administration from Western Washington University. In addition, Duane holds a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and a certificate in International Business from INSEAD in France / Singapore.

Duane currently serves on the Board at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, and at Archbishop Murphy High School, and formerly on the Board at EDC of Snohomish County.

Duane treasures his Catholic Education at ICOLPH School, and what it has provided him, his wife Mary and their five children is a value beyond measure.
