AMHS Sends Students to State DECA

For three days, five AMHS students will attend a statewide DECA Leadership Conference in Seattle. This is the program’s inaugural year at AMHS, and DECA moderator Isaac Melum believes there is a plethora of knowledge to be gained from attending.

“Because this is our first year of DECA, we want some of our leadership to experience what DECA has to offer its members. Fall Leadership Conference is the first chance our members have to engage with DECA on a state scale. The attendees have the opportunity to participate in workshops, mock competitions, and meet with a variety of businesses in Washington. We really hope that some of our chapter's leadership come back invigorated as well as excited to share with us what it feels and looks like to compete in a DECA event.”

The AMHS DECA program began last spring, but the class is in its first semester.  Students have already opened a school store and are exploring other business strategies and opportunities to grow the program.
