Taking Steps to Beat Breast Cancer

A group of local friends have organized a 5K walk/run to fundraise for the American Cancer Society for cancer research and programs supporting those fighting cancer.

“Some of the organizing committee members have been friends since elementary school. All of us have one thing in common though – we’ve all been affected by cancer in one way or another and we’ve lost too many loved ones to do nothing,” said Kerry Munnich, Committee Co-Chair. “We hope this event will not only raise money, but awareness as well.”

Those who would like to join the 5K walk beginning in Legion Park in Arlington on October 25 at 9 a.m. can register early or sign-up same day. Registration fees are $25 and include an event t-shirt. The 5K course begins and ends at Legion Park in downtown Arlington. It is a flat, out and back course on the beautiful Centennial Trail. Pets and strollers are welcome on the course.
