Pipe Bomb in Snohomish
SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Personnel with a tow truck company today found a pipe bomb and another explosive device in a car on the lot that had been impounded for evidence. Both devices were collected by the bomb unit and destroyed.
The vehicle had been stolen and was recovered on July 18th by Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and booked into jail, and the vehicle was towed and stored for evidence at the 1300 block of Bonneville Ave in Snohomish. While inspecting the vehicle today, staff at the impound lot discovered the two devices in the trunk. One was a large pipe bomb and the other was smaller explosive device.
The Interagency Bomb Squad, which is made up of personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, and Everett Police Department, collected the devices. The devices were disrupted at an undisclosed location and have been collected as evidence.
