911 service having problems
Published:2014-04-10 Local
911 service having problems Centurylink is reporting a service problem with some calls to 911. Starting at 1 am, this affects most of western Washington. Alternative phone numbers have been posted for Snohomish County 911, as listed below. Dispatch centers report that that they are currently testing solutions, but full service has not been confirmed by Centurylink. At approximately 0100 hours today Thursday, April 10, 2014, SNOCOM & SNOPAC became aware of an issue with incoming 9-1-1 calls failing to connect when dialing 9-1-1 in Snohomish County. The issue is affecting all 9-1-1 calls (traditional landline, VoIP Broadband and mobile/cellular phones). It became quickly known this is a larger regional issue, affecting all of Washington and Oregon. All local Western Washington 9-1-1 centers are having the same issue. All calls are failing to connect when dialing 9-1-1. Snohomish County callers should attempt to contact via ten digit lines that route to the 9-1-1 system until the problem is corrected by Century Link. No ETA for restoration of service has been provided at this point. SNOCOM Agencies: SNOPAC Agencies:
