2 Alarm Fire in North Everett

At 7:31pm this evening Everett Firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 2300 block of Harrison Avenue.

Occupants were alerted by smoke alarms and were able to get out of the house with minor injuries. Units arrived to find a fully involved house fire that soon vented through the roof. Firefighters were able to get water on the fire quickly but due to the older balloon frame construction full extinguishment was difficult due to the type of construction.

The fire appears to have started in the lower portion of the house but quickly ran up the flue space in the wall to create an attic fire. After initial search and report that all occupants were out of the house the fire was fought from outside the structure due to instability of the floors and walls in the house.

After knockdown another search was done on the 2nd floor as there were reports of animals inside. Firefighters pulled one young dog out of the house and administered blow by oxygen to the dog. He appeared pale and suffering from shock. He was transported by EFD to an area Veterinary clinic is under their care at this time.

Investigators are on scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire. A fire watch crew will be posted all night and investigators will continue the investigation into the morning.
