Fast moving fire displaces family

[Monroe, WA] – Firefighters were dispatched at 2:03 am this morning to a fully involved RV fire at the 12200 block of 215th Place SE. The RV was parked next to the residence and the fire was spreading to the attic of the home.

Upon arrival, Engine 74 quickly pulled a hose line and worked to control and extinguish the fire in the RV and the exterior of the home. As firefighters worked to extinguish the flames there were a few explosions and the propane tank on the RV was venting. Additional crews conducted the primary search of the residence and confirmed all of the family members had gotten out of the home safely. Furthermore, firefighters cut holes in the roof to allow the heat in the attic to escape.

Due to the quick fire attack and ventilation, firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread from the attic through the rest of the home saving the majority of the residence and personal belongings.

No injuries were reported. 1-800-Boardup responded to secure the home. Snohomish County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. There was approximately $200,000 in damage.
