Snohomish County, Wash. – Clean air superhero Oxy Gene will lead a Double Tall bus in the Strawberry Festival Parade at 7:45 p.m. this Saturday night in Marysville. Next Saturday, June 24, Community Transit sponsors the 3rd annual Snohomish County Bike Bash all-day event at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish.

In its latest draft six-year plan, Community Transit outlines its goals of increasing service 38 percent and hiring 250 new employees, mostly bus drivers and mechanics, by 2022. The agency will have staff at more than a dozen community events this summer to talk about new bus service scheduled to start this September and help people apply for the many new job opportunities. Marysville Strawberry Parade
Oxy Gene and the agency’s popular Double Tall double-decker bus will travel down State Avenue in Marysville this Saturday night, June 17, in the Strawberry Festival Grand Parade. The parade starts at 7:45 p.m. at 76th Street NE & State Avenue. The parade procession travels south on State Avenue then turns east on 3rd Street and ends at Alder Avenue.

Snohomish County Bike Bash
Pedal on over and join Community Transit for a day of fun, family-friendly bicycle activities at the 3rd annual Snohomish County Bike Bash. The event is Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Willis Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, in Snohomish. Oxy Gene will be there along with a Swift bus on display.

Whether you are a road warrior, a weekend recreational cyclist or someone simply interested in learning more about biking, the Bike Bash has activities for everyone, including:

• Bike rodeo featuring bicycle safety & skills activities
• $10 discounted bike helmets and fittings from Fire District 7
• Community Transit Swift bus and onboard bike rack demo
• Snohomish County Parks & Recreation information booth
• Live music provided by BridgeCity Church
