Rafter Perishes in Sultan area

Sultan, WASH. – Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a missing rafter in the Lake Chaplain area of Sultan, WA on Saturday afternoon. Initial reports indicated that a raft had overturned, dumping four rafters onboard into the water.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office activated their Dive/Marine Unit and the search was aided by Snohawk 1, the Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue helicopter.
Three of the subjects were able to be rescued but one rafter, a 38 year old male, perished despite the rescue efforts. There are no further details for release at this time. |
