Arlington, WA- The Cascade Valley Hospital Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center has received recognition as a “Center for Excellence” for 2013. This award indicates that the Center has achieved outstanding patient outcomes for the last twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction over 92% and a minimum 91% wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal. Cascade Valley Hospital Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center is the only wound care facility in Washington State to be awarded this honor.

The Wound Care Center® is a member of the Healogics Network of over 500 centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating over two million chronic wounds. In the Cascade Valley Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, more than 380 patients in the community were provided specialized treatment for chronic and non-healing wounds. The center features two state of the art hyperbaric oxygen chambers, which are used to treat wounds related to a variety of conditions, including diabetic foot ulcers, bone and tissue injuries, necrotizing infections, skin grafts and more. Treatments are non-invasive, and designed to drive oxygen deep into body tissue, which promotes healing. Over 30 patients were treated with Hyperbaric Medicine in our community in 2013.

Clark Jones, Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics CEO, commented on the award, “Our Wound Care Center heals chronic wounds of patients who might otherwise experience an amputation or other life-threatening conditions. We are proud to provide this specialized and needed service to our community."

“We’re honored, “ said Michael Handley, Wound Care Program Director, “It’s a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital, physicians, and Healogics. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them get back to living happy, healthy lives.”
