HELP BRUNO SNIFF OUT K9 NASAL CANCER

by Lisa Fobian

While Bruno was dying, from nasal cancer I was desperate, I felt alone, helpless, and at the end hopeless…they were dark times - I had been fighting for him, but that last day I knew he wanted me to let him go – I could see it in his eyes; I bent down to hug him crying when I let go he sat up boldly with this painful groan he sat up..

Just gazing into my eyes for a moment then he kissed my chin one last time, placed his snout over my tears then lay down. That was when he began to die, my time was running out and I hardly got a chance to say goodbye it all happened so quickly.

After his death I kept thinking about the first moment and that last moment with Bruno and a quote from -Seneca the Younger- came to mind "Where ever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness". They're birthed my mission and a purpose in my life, perhaps this sickly, runt of a dog that wasn’t suppose to live past a couple of months endured to not only be my service dog, but to be a service dog to his fellow canines and to all people.

Help Bruno sniff out K9 Nasal Cancer Dog Walk is designed to be a life changing event to bring people together to celebrate the lives of our dogs who battled K9 Nasal Cancer. In whom we saw their strengths as well as their families’ strengths as they fought the stubbornness of this ugly cancer.

Help Bruno sniff out K9 Nasal Cancer is a 1 mile walk to honor the dogs that lost an almost unwinnable battle to this cancer, while showing families that they are not fighting this bully of a cancer alone, and lending support to those who lost their beloved dogs and are in grief.
